Iris Investigate settings

Configure Iris Investigate behavior through the Settings panel, accessible from the Product Menu.

  1. Open the Product Menu (upper left corner, “Iris Investigate”).
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Navigate to the desired settings category.

Configure guided pivot behavior:

  • Threshold: Set maximum number of domains for guided pivot highlighting (default: 500).
  • Enable/Disable: Turn guided pivots on or off.
  • Field-specific thresholds: Customize thresholds for individual fields.

Alternative access: Select the settings icon on the top left of the Pivot Engine.

Configure default historical search behavior for the three supported fields:

  • Email: Enable/disable historical email search.
  • Registrant: Enable/disable historical registrant search.
  • WHOIS Record: Enable/disable historical WHOIS record search.

By default, the system enables historical search for all three fields.

You can override these settings for individual searches:

  1. Open the advanced search panel.
  2. Locate the history icon next to supported fields.
  3. Toggle historical search on or off for that field.
  4. Run your query.

This override applies only to the current search and doesn’t change your global settings.

Configure interface appearance:

  • Panel layout: Adjust panel arrangement.
  • Column visibility: Show/hide Pivot Engine columns.
  • Theme preferences: Interface appearance options.

Control browser notifications:

  • Shared investigation updates: Notifications when collaborators add nodes.
  • System notifications: Important system messages.
  • Investigation alerts: Investigation-related notifications.

Settings save automatically when you make changes. Some settings may require a page refresh to take effect.

To reset settings to default values:

  1. Navigate to the settings category.
  2. Select Reset to Defaults (if available).
  3. Confirm the reset.
